The Challenge

While coordinating the initial four areas, ICON encountered significant challenges obtaining signoff due to incomplete design information from various trades. As the project progressed, ICON had already reached ASI-025, but unfortunately, minimal adjustments have been made to the construction schedule. Compounding the issue, certain ASIs have demanded hundreds of additional hours of PL detailing without any additional time allocated to our team.

The Solution

ICON has diligently identified any design and constructability challenges during this project. In addition to finding solutions, our ICON team has been busy modeling and coordinating new content. ICON is proud to say that it has taken the initiative to author over 100 RFIs, which have been crucial in addressing gaps in the contract drawings. Throughout this project, ICON has successfully provided innovative solutions to various design issues, ranging from minor code-compliance problems to completely redesigning expansive plumbing systems.

Results

The expansion project is progressing smoothly and remains on schedule.
