If you ask Chris what brought him to the construction industry, he’ll tell you it was the pay and benefits that won him over. As a new pilot looking for work, the stability and salary of the trades were too good to turn down. He became a commercial plumber and quickly found his way into design. With experience in computer science, he was offered a role as a detailer and kept learning and growing from there.
Chris’ favorite part of the BIM world is watching how innovation shapes the industry and seeing new technology become integrated into the work. He loves learning how to use tech to make things better and shares that enthusiasm with his team. He likes to keep people pumped up and excited to embrace the challenges in their projects and work to find creative solutions. Surrounding himself with good people means that every day is a good day at the office.

What problem would you love to solve for the construction industry?

- The reluctance to adopt new technology. Things are starting to get better but many contractors still don’t see the benefits technology brings to the industry. I’d love to see tech become more integrated within construction.
What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on?

- Nanotech building at the University of Washington. It was a very complex building that was an exciting challenge to be a part of. It was also my first exposure to Revit and it was great to have the opportunity to use a tool I felt was the future of the industry.
If you could live anywhere in America, where would it be?

- Somewhere in southern Florida. They have great weather, golfing, oceans, beaches, all the best things.
